Enniskillen’s roundabouts are about to get a major facelift thanks to an ambitious new beautification project led by Enniskillen BID (Business Improvement District). The initiative, which has long been called for by local residents and businesses, will focus on revitalising several key roundabouts across the town — starting with the Library roundabout, Sligo Road, and Trory.

For years, many of Enniskillen’s roundabouts have fallen into disrepair, drawing criticism for their neglected appearance. Now, BID is stepping up to transform these high-profile entry points into eye-catching, welcoming spaces that reflect the pride of the local community.

“We’re thrilled to finally kick off this project and extremely grateful to our first sponsor, Balcas, for their early support,” said Noelle McAloon, BID Manager.
“This marks an important first step in bringing new life to areas of town that have been long overlooked.”

Local Business Support Leads the Way

The revitalisation efforts officially began with support from Balcas, a long-established local company with deep roots in the Fermanagh community.

Brian Murphy, CEO of Balcas, shared:
“We’ve been investing in the local community since 1962, and this project perfectly reflects our values of sustainability, civic pride, and positive transformation. We’re proud to be part of this and look forward to seeing these spaces flourish for both residents and visitors.”

More Roundabouts to Follow

While work begins at Trory and other priority roundabouts, tidying and early improvements are also underway at Donnelly’s and SWAH roundabouts as part of a phased plan to enhance all roundabouts across Enniskillen over time.

BID has partnered with Greentown Environmental Ltd to carry out the work, while Sweeney Garden Design is lending its creative expertise to develop beautiful and imaginative designs for each location.

“We’ve been very fortunate to have both Greentown Environmental and Sean Sweeney involved in the project,” McAloon added.
“Their experience and vision are helping us create something that Enniskillen can truly be proud of.”

Businesses Invited to Get Involved

BID is now calling on other local businesses to get involved by sponsoring a roundabout. Sponsorship not only contributes to the physical improvement of the town but also strengthens local pride and helps make Enniskillen a more inviting destination for both residents and visitors.

“This project is about far more than just appearances,” McAloon explained.
“It’s about investing in our shared community spaces and building a vibrant, thriving Enniskillen for everyone. But we need local businesses to help us make it happen.”

How to Get Involved

Any businesses interested in sponsoring a roundabout or learning more about the project are encouraged to contact Enniskillen BID directly.
