Enniskillen is set to host its very first Pink Run, and it’s more than just a fun day out — it’s a community-wide campaign to support local women on their breast cancer journey.

Organised by Cancer Focus Northern Ireland, the Pink Run will take place on Sunday 28th September at St. Angelo Airport. This family-friendly event invites everyone — whether you want to walk, jog, or run — to come together in pink and help raise vital funds for the brand-new Therapeutic Cancer Support Centre recently opened in the town.

A Season of Firsts for Enniskillen

The Pink Run is one of several major milestones for Cancer Focus NI in Fermanagh this year. The charity recently opened its Fermanagh Cancer Support Centre at 18 High Street, as well as launching a new Western Trust Prostate Support Group. The Enniskillen Pink Run is the next step in what the charity hopes will become an annual celebration of community support and cancer awareness.

“Our Fermanagh Cancer Support Centre has been open less than a month and we’re already supporting local women and families,” said Krystle Corrigan, Fermanagh Fundraising Events Officer.

“The Enniskillen Pink Run will help us raise vital funds to grow these services. I cannot wait to work alongside local people, schools, and businesses on their fundraising journey — together we will make the town’s first Pink Run something truly memorable.”

How the Pink Run Began

The Pink Run started 10 years ago in Belfast with just a handful of participants. Today, it’s Cancer Focus NI’s flagship fundraising event, with over 1,100 people taking part in 2024 and raising £110,000 for breast cancer support. That success has translated into nearly 2,000 hours of counselling, bra and swimwear fittings, and vital support groups for women affected by breast cancer.

Now, that same mission is being brought to Enniskillen — with the hope of rallying 500 participants for its debut run.

“Last year I took part in my first Belfast Pink Run and saw first-hand the energy and emotion behind it,” Krystle added.
“I knew immediately that Enniskillen needed its own — and I’m thrilled to see it happening.”

Get Involved: Run, Fundraise, Volunteer

Cancer Focus NI is calling on individuals, schools, businesses — even four-legged friends — to go pink and help turn the town into a hub of awareness and action.

In addition to signing up for the Pink Run, the charity is also looking for local fundraising volunteers who can offer just a few hours to support its growing number of initiatives.

Another key event this autumn will be the second annual Cuilcagh Boardwalk Mountain Hike, taking place on 20th September, with all funds raised going toward the local Cancer Support Centre.
