Cassidy Hospitality Group will host a special Wine, Art & Cheese Evening on Wednesday 4th June at the Gourmet Grocer in Enniskillen, as part of the inaugural Wine Geese Festival – a programme marking 300 years since Thomas Barton left Fermanagh for Bordeaux and began a legacy that would shape the international wine world.
Guests will enjoy a tasting of three French wines – including one from the Barton family’s world-renowned vineyard – alongside Irish cheeses and canapés served throughout the evening. The Gourmet Grocer’s extensive wine range will also be on show, with wines available to purchase or order on the night.
A member of the Barton family will join the evening to share a few words about their roots in Fermanagh and their continuing connection to Ireland.
The café will also become a one-night-only gallery, with original works exhibited by The Island Artists. Several pieces have been generously donated for a charity auction in support of Rotary Club Enniskillen, with the rest available to browse and buy. The artists will be on hand to speak about their work.
“What makes this special is the mix of people, place and story,” said Leo Nacer, Head of Sales & Marketing at Cassidy Hospitality Group. “It’s not every day you get to welcome back a wine family with Fermanagh roots, celebrate local art, and raise money for Rotary – all in the same evening. That’s what we’re about: championing quality produce, telling the stories behind it, and being a place where the community comes together.”
