Following its full closure due to storm damage, Lough Navar Forest and Scenic Drive has now partially reopened to the public on weekends only, according to an update issued by Cuilcagh Lakelands UNESCO Global Geopark.
From Saturday 10th May, visitors can once again enjoy access to Lough Navar every Saturday and Sunday, while midweek access (Monday to Friday) remains restricted as clearance and harvesting work continues in the aftermath of Storm Eowyn.
However, it’s important to note that two trails remain closed until further notice:
- Blackslee Waterfall Trail
- Lough Slawn Trail
The decision to limit access to weekends only is aimed at keeping the public safe while essential forestry operations are carried out.
