Home interiors retailer Harry Corry has confirmed plans to move its Enniskillen store from Erneside Shopping Centre to the new Lakelands Retail Park, with an opening expected in early October.

About Harry Corry

Founded in 1968, Harry Corry is a well-known family-run retailer based in Belfast, specialising in curtains, bedding, lighting, and home accessories. With over 700 employees and more than 50 stores across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and Scotland, the brand has become a familiar name for home improvement shoppers.

New Store Opening

While an exact opening date has not been confirmed, Harry Corry has announced that their new store at Lakelands Retail Park in Enniskillen will open in early October 2025. The move will see the company vacate its current premises in Erneside Shopping Centre in favour of a larger unit at the newly developed retail park.

Our View

While it’s always good to see businesses invest in larger premises, we can’t help but feel disappointed by this announcement.

The arrival of Harry Corry at the Lakelands Retail Park is not exactly something new or exciting for Enniskillen. The brand has already been trading in the town for years. Simply moving from one part of town to another—while understandable from a business point of view—does little to bring variety or vibrancy to the area.

One of the biggest selling points of the retail park was the promise of attracting new businesses, fresh shopping opportunities, and creating more jobs. However, this move is expected to create just three additional roles. That’s hardly the kind of job creation that justifies the hype this retail park has received.

If the Lakelands Retail Park becomes a place for existing town centre shops to upgrade their floorspace, it risks turning into a repackaging of the same old offerings, rather than a true destination for retail growth. Enniskillen deserves better.

We hope to see truly new and exciting businesses announced soon, ones that don’t already exist in town, and that offer real benefit to shoppers, job seekers, and the local economy.

What do you think about Harry Corry’s move? Is it the right step for Enniskillen, or a missed opportunity? Let us know your thoughts on our Facebook page.
