Young Gruffalo fans are being invited to return to the deep dark wood this weekend, as Waterstones Enniskillen celebrates the arrival of a brand-new Gruffalo story.
The Waterstones store at Erneside Shopping Centre will hold a special Gruffalo Granny celebration on Saturday 12th September 2026, with storytime and activities planned for young readers.
Storytime will get underway at 11am, with further activities taking place throughout the day as families celebrate the release of the new book from author Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler.

Return to the deep dark wood
Gruffalo Granny was released on Thursday 10th September and marks the first new Gruffalo story in more than 20 years.
The new adventure sees Gruffalo Granny visit the Gruffalo family and brings readers back to the world created by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.
It follows the original The Gruffalo, first published in 1999, and The Gruffalo’s Child, which followed in 2004. The first two books have sold more than 18 million copies combined and have been published in 115 languages and dialects.
Storytime at Waterstones Enniskillen
To mark the new book’s arrival, Waterstones Enniskillen will be giving local children the chance to join in with a special storytime at 11am on Saturday.
Activities will then continue throughout the day, giving families and young Gruffalo fans another reason to pay a visit to Erneside while celebrating the latest adventure from the much-loved characters.
